grandmother, went to be with the Lord, Friday January 29th 2021. Cheryl is reunited with her
mother Alta (Barnum), Father Lester Bock, and forever friend Adam Leoni.
Cheryl was born December 7th, 1943 in Warren Ohio to Lester and Alta(Barnum) Bock,
and older brother Edward Bock. Cheryl loved riding her bike and loved visiting the family farm.
Cheryl loved telling her kids and grandkids she was “Sword drill champion of Trumbull County”
as well as acting Postmaster. No matter what Cheryl did she gave it her all. In 1962 the whole
family moved to Arizona at the invitation of Cheryl’s uncle Earl. Her mother and father eventually
did return to Ohio. Cheryl stayed, she loved Arizona Sunsets and sunshine. Cheryl attended the
U of A for a short period of time as a Phys. Ed. major. During college Cheryl worked as a
waitress at Mr. Burger where as fate would have it she met her husband of 30 years Adam
Leoni and together had four children. Ron, Rick, Robert and finally a girl Robin. Adam coached
little league for many years, and Cheryl was always there to cheer on the teams…both teams.
She is and always was an encourager and always routed for the underdog. Cheryl loved being
at the ballgames through the years with Adam, and has built lifelong friendships with people at
the park. After hearing about a job at the USPS from a friend, Wanda and Cheryl both took the
test. They both got on with the USPS. With her encouragement Adam eventually got on with the
USPS and retired as Supervisor Of Postal Operations from Nogales AZ. Cheryl loved working
for the USPS in various positions. Postal clerk, acting Postmaster of MT Lemmon and
eventually working at the Airport sending and receiving mail through the airlines. Cheryl finally
retired after 40 years of faithful service, she absolutely loved working for the USPS and loved
the postal family she met there. After retirement Cheryl felt a sort of a loss, and prayed for a
purpose. That purpose came in the form of two surprise grandchildren Cora and Saige, whom
Cheryl acted as a third parent for. Cheryl loved her kids but always said being a grandparent
was the best. After retiring Cheryl loved to fellowship at her numerous bible studies, volunteer at
Gospel Rescue mission making dinner, being a greeter at Faith Community Church and baking
cookies for the troops at Christmas.
Cheryl is survived by her brother Edward Bock and sister in law Nancy. Children, Ron,
Rick, Robert, Robin, and loving son-in-law Brian. Grand children Nicholas, Vincent, Tony, Jacob,
Lucas, Larissa, Kendy, Sepporah, Cora and Saige. Forever daughter in-laws Cara and Maribel.
As well as three great grand children.
Cheryl always gave, always loved and always chose to forgive. She always put others
before herself, and always saw the good in people. She had a strong faith and loved her Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ. She was an example of a Godly woman putting her faith first in all she
did. She was the glue that held the family together.
Mom we love you and miss you terribly, there will be a huge hole in our lives that will
never be filled. THANK YOU FOR YOUR LEGACY! Until we meet again in heaven we will
cherish the years we had with you! P.S. Saige says “No one will ever, ever tickle scratch
her ever again!!!
