Donald Gerald Hoff was born April 29, 1931 in Bellingham, Washington, to Gerald and Elizabeth Hoff. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and then traveled the world as a tech rep during the 1950s. He married Donna Rae Sieger in 1960 and then earned his electrical engineering degree from the University of Illinois. They fell in love with the Sonoran Desert and settled in Tucson in 1977.
In addition to a passion for travel, Don was an avid photographer, loved flying, and read omnivorously. He was a loving husband and father who had a joke for every occasion. He is survived by daughters Elizabeth (Blake) Frerking, Rebecca (Steven) Rucker, and Katherine Hoff; grandchildren Alex (Ella) Rucker and Caroline Rucker. He is preceded in death by his wife Donna.
