

We are saddened to announce that Mrs. Dorothy Maurine Hudson, beloved mother and grandmother passed away on March 26th, 2014. She was 92 years old. Preceded in death by her husband John D. Hudson she is survived by her Daughter Helen (Hudson) Elleven of Anchorage Alaska, and sons’ David D. Hudson (Marcia) of Somis, California, John W. Hudson (Jan) of Trinidad California, nine grandchildren and twenty great grand children.
Her loss creates a void of sadness in her family that is only filled with the memory of her loving-kindness and gentle nature. She was dedicated to her family and was an extraordinary homemaker. She met her husband of 56 years while working in a defense plant in Milan Tennessee during World War II. Don Hudson was a Captain in the Army assigned there. This was the start of a deep and abiding love story that lasted a lifetime. After the war they moved to California where they built their family and a successful business, Hudson Plating Works. It’s a tribute to her memory to be able to say that all who knew her held her in high regard.
There will be a memorial service for Mrs. Hudson on Saturday April 5th at 10:30 am at the Griffen family funeral home at 101 e. Wilbur road, Thousand Oaks, ca. 91360. There will be a lunch reception immediately to follow. She will be interred in Tucson Arizona prior to the memorial service. That service will be at Southlawn cemetery with a viewing at 11:30 am and a graveside service at 12:30. The address there is 5401 South Park ave., Tucson, Arizona 85706.
