Eglantina Hernandez Lucero was born on May 29, 1949 to Enrique Hernandez Zavala and Matilde Rosas Perez de Hernandez. Tina, as most people knew her, gave birth to three boys, Eddie, Miguel (Aletha) and Roberto Lucero (Inez). If you wanted to get her talking all you had to do was ask her about her grand-children, Anthony, Hector, Stephen, Alex, Jessica, Carson, Landon, Cruz, Ryder, Aitana, Seth and Aydan, or any of her great grand-children. She also loved her family so much, her sister Socorro Holmes, brothers Francisco and Enrique Hernandez as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Most of her life (about 40 years) she worked in Dialysis where she was known as one of the best stickers in the business. Our mom really loved her job, she was usually the first to show up and the last to leave. Between her years of work in Tucson, Phoenix, Yuma and Ohio our mom made so many friends. She valued each and every friendship no matter how far she was from them. Our mom would have been so happy to read all the messages that her friends have sent telling how special and loved she is.
When she had a chance, Tina would send a loving message, a prayer or a knitted blanket to anyone who she felt needed it, which was everyone. Tina loved to help others, whether it was caring for them while undergoing their hemodialysis treatment or taking them food when they hit a rough patch. She was also known to hand a stranger money or a bag of food, because the Lord told her to. Her Christian belief was strong and she shared it with anyone who was willing to receive it. We have heard from many people how our mom helped them find their faith and get closer to God. Those who knew our mother would not be surprised.
She will be missed my many, but what will be missed the most is her wonderful laugh. When she laughed everyone could hear it and couldn’t help but start laughing along, even though we had no clue what she was laughing at. Most of the time watching her favorite TV shows would get her laughing, shows like I love Lucy, The Golden Girls, The Big Bang Theory, Caso Cerrado and of course her most favorite actor/singer of all time the late great Elvis Presley.
Our mom lost her battle to COVID on January 23, 2021. That day our hearts were broken, but with all the memories and stories that many have shared it has helped tremendously. So many lives have been touched by our Angel and now she is without pain, without struggles. Her mother Matilde, our wonderful Nana, also left us to be with our Creator, two weeks and one day after our mom. One thing that helps is to think our mom, Tina, was there to welcome Nana with a giant hug.
Mother, we will miss you so much. We Love You!!
