Ms. Ella V Penns was born in Borger, Texas to Eula Smith and Oscar Redd on November 16, 1931. She married Stanley Booker in 1951 and later relocated to Tucson, Arizona in 1965. Ella was a domestic worker up until age 52 after which she drove a city bus for Suntran. While there, she was recognized as a distinguished employee and earned numerous awards and honors. Ms. Ella V Penns enjoyed reading her Danielle Steele romance novels, watching game shows, and spending time with her family and friends. Ella V Penns, was affectionately known as "Midget" or "Granny" to so many. She opened her home to family and friends every Saturday for as long as most can remember. On Sunday, April 3, 2022, Ella V Penns joined beloved family members in Heaven: husband Stanley Booker; son Robert Booker; daughters Patricia Booker and Julia Jenkins; sisters Rosa Lee Cole and Margaret Long; brother Booker, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory: son Ben Thomas; daughter Barbara Booker; sisters Letha Booker; Gladys Walker; and Mary Shead; and a host of grand; great grand and great great grand children; family and friends. Her strength, kindness and courage will be missed and our love for her will go on forever.
