Tucson, AZ -- Frank W. Meyer passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at his daughter Cynthia’s place of residence under the compassionate care of family and Hospice. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
Frank was born June 29, 1932 in El Reno, OK son of the late Frank Meyer Sr. and Helen (Logan) Rumfelt. After high school, Frank proudly served his country with the United States Air Force. He was stationed in various locations both nationally and abroad and retired at rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Frank’s sense of discipline and patriotism were unwavering.
He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and fishing. Frank was a competitive player in pocket billiards, who won numerous trophies, and he loved to travel. During his retirement, Frank enjoyed visiting with his friends and playing dominoes. Having a soft spot for animals, he enjoyed having dogs and cats as pets.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Josephine Meyer; and by his Sister Joann Meyer; and latter life companion Luella Fritz.
Frank is survived by his loving sister Doreen Zent and his loving children: Cynthia Bess and her husband Robert; Timothy Meyer and his wife Roxanne; Linda Allen and her companion David; his beloved grandchildren: Shannon, Ryan, Stormy, Wendy, Nicole, Leigh and Michael; his dear great grandchildren Shelby, Caleb, Olivia, Maddox, and Amorette; numerous nieces and nephews; and many cherished close friends.
Family and friends will be received Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 3p.m. at Desert Rose Heather Cremation and Burial, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd. Private interment will be located in El Reno, OK.
