Frederick Anthony Aden

Fred Aden, 78, fell asleep in death at home, with family at his side July 8,2016. Born August 9, 1937, as the only child of Menno and Matilda Aden, Fred was raised in New Jersey. In 1975, he and his family moved to Tucson, AZ. Fred married his first wife Mary (Markwalter) in 1959. They enjoyed 41 years of marriage before her death September 5,2001.

Raised an only child, he gained many family members and close friends before his death. Fred is survived by his second wife Nancy (Hilt); three children Robin Aden, Chris Lagemann and Rick Aden and their families, two step daughters Colleen Cody, Sharon Vega and their families; brother in law Peter Markwalter (of Pennsylvania) and families. All totaled Fred has twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In 1957 Fred became one of Jehovah's Witnesses. At an older age (2005) he began associating with the Tucson French group and helped as it grew into a congregation. Not only did he learn a new language, he learned new cultures and foods.

In 2014 Fred moved to Phoenix. It is not known when Fred began his journey with dementia, but he kept his dignity and wonderful smile, loyal to the end.
