Gary was my brother in law.  He was more brother than in law.  I have so many great memories of him.  Probably too many to list here.  But I will write about a few of the more vivid ones. 

Gary’s standard greeting was “Howdy”.  It was always fun to see or call him.  It was a genuine Howdy and over the years became synonymous with him.  

Gary loved to cook.   He introduced us to his homemade pasta sauce early  in our relationship.  He’d always use the same pot and made a sauce that was the best I’ve ever tasted.   To top it off he’d make calzones to be topped with his sauce.   We’d have family gatherings featuring his sauce and calzones.   Incredible.  He cooked with love and you could feel it.  

Gary was an incredible builder.  His finish carpentry was beautiful.  When he, Dana and Ryan moved back to Tucson from New York we had him do the remodeling on a house we’d purchased.  The work he did was amazing.   It was a huge project.  New floor tile throughout, new bathrooms, new cabinets etc.   the people who installed the granite countertops didn’t have to level or shim a thing.  It was perfectly level!   

Gary was not a man of many words.  When he did speak up his points of view were always valuable.   He was such a great person.   Such an artist. He was loved by everyone who met him including every animal that he’d come across.   

I loved Gary and I will miss him terribly.   There will never be another person like him.  I’m glad to have known him.   Knowing him made me want to be a better person.

There’s a hole in our family and our hearts. The world isn’t the same without our Gary. He is married to my sister, Dana. We, along with our other sister, Beth, have been best of friends for over 43 years. 
 Gary has left us with so many fun and funny memories. He was always up for our game days. One of our best ones was when we played Yahtzee, and Gary rolled 5 Yahtzee’s in one game. We were all laughing so hard. Gary laughed so hard that his eyes watered. Soooo fun!!
Gary loved nature and the outdoors. We’ve all hiked miles and miles together, including to the top of Mt Wrightson. Beautiful day. 
He was an artistic craftsman who helped us remodel more homes than I can count. His work was always perfect, and we don’t know what we would have done without him. 
He loved animals, especially dogs. He was an animal magnet. He had such a gentle way about him that they were drawn to him. It was magical to watch. 
He had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. I miss that soooo much. 😞
We love you Gary. RIP

Gary put on a scary face. From that point on, Maverick called him “Scary Gary”. 🤣

Tammy the realtor says “We love Gary. Let’s sell him” 🤣

My favorite memories are of the near professionally catered dinners that you and uncle Gary would host for us all. The two of you together are so wonderfully creative.  Those were amazing, brought the whole family together, and it was such a blessing to see him in his 'fun' element. 

The other treasure was to hear uncle Gary laugh. He didn't say much, but it was a joy when something would catch his humor and he'd suddenly laugh  that great laugh. So sweet.

We were so sorry to hear about Gary's passing and are so sorry for you and your son's loss.  He was a great guy and I have fond memories from way back when.  May your memories be a comfort.

What a tragic loss for you and Seth.  You had a wonderful relationship that will stIay with you forever.  Gary repaired a wood window for me that you could never find the repair-was such a perfectionist.  The memorial was beautifully written and I loved seeing all the pictures. A job well done .
