Gary Lee Johnson

Gary Lee Johnson, age 69, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021. He was born November 11, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Jewell Dean and Patricia Worsham Johnson. He married Jacqueline Fryman, in December of 1974 who preceded him in death in 2015.

Gary was a very dedicated Cincinnati Bengals fan, and due to the loving support of his wife Suzanne who he married in June of 2017, he also became a dedicated fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. He loved to travel, but he most enjoyed spending time fishing any place his RV would take him as long as his wife or a grandchild was with him.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Michael Johnson and Rick Hard, and sisters Louise Simonson and Patsy Schill.

Gary is survived by his wife Suzanne; children Sara (Jason) Dyer of Tucson, AZ, Niki (Jason) Savage of Gallatin, TN, and Matt (Lava) Spencer of Auburn, AL; and four grandchildren: Naomi, Eleanor, Keelie, and Livvy; two sisters: Jackie Runtz of Cincinnati, OH and Vickie Franklin of Ashland, KY; and one brother Edward Hard of Cincinnati, OH.

A memorial service for Gary will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 East Grant Road, #C, Tucson, AZ 85712. A reception will occur Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712.
