Gerard F Trotter

Born in Tucson Arizona on November 28th, 1950. He succumbed to a long-term illness on November 19th, 2019. His short 68 years here proved Rod was a very resourceful and creative man. His sense of humor and adventure was only exceeded by his kindness and generosity. He will be well remembered.

Growing up in Brooklyn and moving to Bethpage, NY in the 50s, the 60’s would provide a fertile ground for his imagination. He made all sorts of electronic gadgets from flashing lights to a high voltage Tesla Coil. This background proved important on his return to Tucson in the early 70’s to attend Pima College. This continued interest in electricity drove him into a career as a Master Electrician. When the travel and more importantly family demands directed him to start his successful venture into an Electrical Contracting business, ‘Desert Hills Electric, Inc.’ His successful company for over 30 years, provided employment to his family as well as to numerous local electrical and technical workers. Rod was well known in the community for his generosity and kindness to all. His many accomplishments will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rod’s family was large and diverse. With the Tucson Family of the Pruetts to the Trotter Families in the East, his home was the center of numerous visits and celebrations. He leaves his daughters Stephanie, married to Jason Duke and three grandchildren Shyanne, Beau and Landen, youngest daughter Vivian Trotter and Susan Trotter, mother of his children. His brother Mark, married to Cathy with three daughters, Amy, Stacey, and Christy, his brother Albert married to Fran with three children, Carolyn, Albert James (AJ) and Gregory, his sister Susan married to Tom Mazzoni with two children, Valerie and Michael Scarfone. Together there are seven grand nieces and nephews.

Our dear Brother, Father, Uncle, Cousin, Friend and Colleague will truly and sadly be missed in our lives. God bless, our prayers to you for a final peaceful rest Rod.

Services will be held at the Desert Rose Heather Home, 1040 N. Columbus Road, Tucson on December 3rd from 11-2PM.
