Giuseppa (Pina) Talvy, 90, passed away peacefully at her home on December 30, 2020. Known as Pina she was born in Bagnara, Italy on January 22, 1930, the oldest of four siblings. She is preceded in death by her parents Giuseppe and Maria Oliverio, brother, Walter Oliverio, sister, Connie Voce, and her daughter Elena and her son Pino.
Pina is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Joseph Talvy; sons, Samuel (Tammy), Ralph (fiancé Geralyn), Larry (Donna), and Rick (Bonnie); fourteen grandchildren and 18 great‐grandchildren; her sister Lella (Cosimo Filieri), she also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Pina grew up and went to school in Ethiopia, moved to Germany, and then came to the United states in 1970.
Pina had an energetic personality and was known for her ability to find the good in everyone. She was a very loving women who worried about others and touched many lives with her generosity. If you ever asked her how she was doing she would say “I’m fine, just fine, don’t worry about me!”. She was very dedicated to all of her family and friends. Pina always enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and traveling.
She was an active member of the Order of Amaranth, Order of the Eastern Star, Lions Club International, Lioness, Lady Shriner, Ladies Oriental Shrine, and the Daughters of the Nile. Pina was a past member of the Italian/American Club and played various roles in some western movies.
Pina had a heart of gold and will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Due to the Coronavirus, a private memorial service and burial will be held with the immediate family.
