Glen Neil Erickson

Neil was born August 9, 1929 to Glen and Louise Erickson in Brewster, Nebraska. Neil graduated from high school in North Platte Nebraska, joined the Army and served in the Korean War. He married Laura Mae Chance on October 3, 1954 in North Platte, Nebraska.

Neil served as a Pennington County Deputy Sheriff in Rapid City, South Dakota for six years. Neil also served for the next twenty years as a Federal Deputy United States Marshal in South Dakota eventually transferring to Tucson and then Yuma. Arizona where he retired from the Marshals Service. After retirement, Neil and Laura moved to Tucson to reside where he worked as a court security officer at the Federal Courthouse for 14 years.

Neil is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Gates of Clear Lake, South Dakota, Monie (Tom) Issenhuth of Madison, South Dakota and son, Paul (Marivel) Erickson of Yuma, Arizona, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Neil is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laura; brother, Alan; great-grandchild, Finley Boyle and son in-law Chip Gates.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Tucson, AZ 85712. Funeral service to begin at 11:00 am with interment to follow immediately after.
