It is with great sadness that the family of Grace Lohr announces her passing from Earth to Heaven after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, on January 28, 2019, at the age of 57. Surrounded by her family, she was “sung” into Heaven to forever praise our Loving God.
Grace was such a generous and loving Christian and was well known throughout the Catholic Diocese of Tucson for her work as a diocesan Music Director, parish Music Director at St. John the Evangelist, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and St. Odilias, Pastoral Center assistant to Sr. Lois Paha, and Liturgist at St. Odilias. Gifted with an angelic voice, she cantored throughout the Diocese.
After graduating from the University of Arizona, Grace had many other jobs over the years in Tucson. She was an assessor for the County Assessor’s Office and she was a private assessor. She was also a driver for Uber and Lyft. Grace will now join her brother, Jorge Amaro, and mother, Angelita Amaro, as well as many aunts and uncles in Paradise. Grace is survived by her husband, Charles, son Patrick and father Juan Amaro. She is also survived by siblings Angela (David) Murrieta, Juan (Sara) Amaro, Yolanda (Peter) Martinez, Josie (Gary) Anna, Dan (Paati) Amaro, Estevan (Molly) Amaro, Alicia (Jesus) Garaygordobil, Alex Amaro, Lourdes (Marco) Leon, Tia Dolores Dominguez and Tio Henry Nunez, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
A vigil/rosary service will be held on Thursday, February 7, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, with viewing starting at 5:30 PM and service starting at 7 PM. Mass of Resurrection will be held Friday, February 8, at 11 AM, also at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Grace will be interned at Holy Hope Cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at the hospitals, Northwest Medical Center and Banner University Medical Center, for their gentle care during her stay. Arrangements entrusted to FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN 520-294-2603.
