He is survived by his three sons, Ray, Jack, and Jim, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of more than 50 years, Rosella, and three daughters, Carol, Fran, and Marie.
Jack joined the U.S. Navy in 1946 when he was 19 years old. He was in active service for a total of nearly six years. He served proudly as a gunner’s mate on the USS Gregory. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he started his career with the State of Arizona and retired after 30 years as a surveyor.
Jack was a great family man and was always there for anyone who needed him. He was socially active and enjoyed the company of many friends and family members. Jack had a smile that was contagious and was always ready to tell a joke, or two. To know Jack was to love him. He never had an unkind word to say about anyone and was always kind-spirited and happy.
We will always love and cherish all the fun times and good memories Jack brought us. He will be missed.
The family would like to thank everyone who cared for Jack including his long-time caregiver and friend Renee, Sierra Del Sol Senior Living, and Emblem Hospice for providing excellent care to Jack in his final days.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.funerariadelangeltucson.com for the Briggs family.
