I was saved at 8 years old under Pastor Joiner and a bus kid in 1974. I'm extremely grateful I found Christ at a young age.

I just found out today after reading a post about JC Joiner passing away. I feel so thankful to have know him and to go to T.C.S. I learned so much about the Bible from him, love the way he would preach . He was a special man and love his family very much especially Paul.  Choir and drama . Listening to him sing. Always think of him fondly .

Such a wonderful person(the whole family as well).  Many years ago he flew to Lubbock, Texas to take care of a funeral for my baby.  He got off the plane in the wee hours of the morning and when my husband ran out of gas and they were walking the West Texas highway, Bro. Joiner's response was, at least the plane did not run out of gas. He flew back to Tucson with my mother and led her to the Lord.  He will be be remembered well and the Lord has received one of the best.

I too was saved under the ministry of Pastor Joiner in 1971, not long after my Amphi High School classmate Jim Smith got me to come visit NTBC.
I'm thankful to be one of the many who   was called into the ministry out of Brother Joiner's ministry. It's been great to have a pastor who  stayed faithful and was a man who's example we could count on. 



Valerie & I will never be able to thank Pastor Joiner (Preacher) for all he has done for us.  I've been blessed to have had him as my long distance pastor now since leaving NTBC to go to PCBBC in 1974.  I was saved while in the first grade under his ministry.  Jacque Fisher (now Jacque Joiner) taught our SS class one day about heaven.  I went home and asked my mom how I could go to heaven.  She was cooking lunch at that moment so she sent me to the back bedroom with my sister Janet who led me to the Lord that Sunday afternoon.  I will forever be grateful to Jacque for the lesson she taught that day; and to Janet who opened Scriptures and led me to the Lord!  It is a wonderful blessing to have the heritage we have and to have had such godly men and women to instruct us.   What a privilege to have had JC Joiner as our pastor all this time!  

Bro. Joiner has been a blessing to my family for over 40 years. It was a blessing & privilege to serve our Lord along side Bro. Joiner & the people of NTBC  for 5 years in the late 70’s to early 80’s.

Pastor has been in my life since day one. He came to visit my mom at the hospital where I was born. He baptized me. He led my husband,  Andrew, to the Lord, and he is the one who did our wedding ceremony. I’ve grown up under Pastor Joiner's preaching, spiritual guidance and leadership. He never hesitated to preach on the difficult topics and stand strong on the Word of God. I have grown to admire and respect him so much. His words of wisdom are forever ingrained in my heart and mind.  My heart and prayers go out to Pastor’s family and to all who knew him. His passing has left a huge void in the hearts and lives of many. 

 Here are a few great quotes from Pastor’s preaching and some funny words he used that would always make me giggle. I wrote them down in my Bible over the years:

“Malarkey” “Hogwash” “Lollygag”

“God doesn’t like you lollygagging at the starting line.”

“We must not be so foolish as to build doctrines out of human experiences.”

“This book does not need to be revised. It needs to be reread and OBEYED.”

“Get thou over it!”

“If God were small enough for our minds, He wouldn’t be big enough for our needs.”

“Bible facts are to be believed. Bible promises are to be claimed. Bible commandments are to be obeyed. "

I am praying that the family will be comforted at this time knowing that this dear man is in the arms of his savior. Because of this man and church members I was saved as a teenager and both of my parents were saved shortly after. I now know thay they are in heaven because of the messages that were preached by this man of  the salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ.  

Bro. Joiner provided leadership to Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College in San Dimas, California while serving on the Board of Directors and as President of the college for many years. Also, he has been a strong supporter of the school since the relocation to Oklahoma City.

We are asking all the “Friends of Heartland” to lift up his dear family during this time.

This is the man I came to to give my life to the Lord Jesus Christ. I cannot thank him enough for turning my life around based on his preachings and pointing me in the direction of certainty of eternal life. Thank you pastor Joiner and your ministry and for what little memories I have, they will be forever and deep in my heart and in my mind

God is pleased with his blessed children.  I never met Pastor Joiner but heard about him through a church member.  Good things were always said.  I know that pleases God.  On this human side, Im sorry for your loss but may we all see Jesus and Shout The Victory.

I cannot adequately express how much Pastor has meant to our family over the 40 years we’ve been members.  He was a great Pastor and Preacher.  I have no doubt that if the Book of Hebrews were written today, his name would be included in the Hall of Faith.  It might read like this – 'By faith JC Joiner was called to start a tremendous Bible-Believing church in Tucson, Arizona. He sojourned to this strange land with his family in a broken-down vehicle.  After much prayer and supplication, God “healed” the vehicle and brought them safely to their destination.  This man of God was faithful to the Word and his congregation for over 60 years.  He had a deep love for people and a strong desire to win souls to Christ.  His godly influence reached throughout the world.  He was a man after God’s own heart.' Pastor will be greatly missed.  His words, filled with encouragement and spiritual wisdom, will be eternally ingrained in our minds.  It's been an honor and a privilege to have known him.  Phillipians 1:3-6 “I thank my god upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Pastor JC Joiner was a true special friend, godly example and adopted “Young Dad!”  He was truly a gentleman with great wisdom and love for people.  I can’t count  the many times I watched him share the Gospel with someone.  He will surely missed!  Sweet Beulah Land is even sweeter!

I will be eternally grateful to Pastor Joiner for being faithful to God's call. I was saved under his ministry at NTBC in 1973 and surrendered my life to God's will in 1979. Although the Lord led me away from Tucson for 13 years, and then to service in other churches, I have always considered Pastor Joiner to be my pastor. This is a man of God who stood firm in the faith and his calling. He is truly a hero of the faith and I was blessed to sit at his feet! 

It was under Pator Joiner's ministry my parents - Ron and Faye Hall, were saved. A very young couple who now through the years have not been led astray from the faith. To this day they serve in their church. Because of this, I was raised in a Christian home, was able to attend a Christian school and who I am today. I attended NTBC and the school back in the day. We moved when I was in the third grade but our roots were always back at New Testament. There's a funny story about my mom's stolen purse being found on the roof of the church!? Anyway....God bless that church. May it flourish in that community from the roots on which it was established- lifting up the name of JESUS!!!!
