Charleigh, Cameron, Asher, Ellie and Easton and TBD. She is also survived by her older brother Richard “Bud” Whiting (Ro) who resides in Buffalo, New York. Jean was born in 1925 in Buffalo, New York to Edward and Winifred Whiting. After several job related transfers, Jean and husband Ned settled in Tucson in 1960 and have remained here ever since. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and Auntie. Jean loved nothing more than to spend time with her family, even if it was just to sit and watch a U of A sporting event on TV. She enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities including marching band (high school and college), concerts, volleyball, football, basketball, swimming, softball and school events. For 40 years, Jean loved singing bass as a member of Tucson Desert Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adeline’s International, playing golf, tennis, bridge and square dancing. She enjoyed going on an occasional visit to the casino with friends, her daughters and
grandson. Jean had many friends that she kept in close contact with for many years. Her friends
and family meant everything to her. She is a devout Christian who loved going to church and is looking forward to being with Ned and all her friends who are waiting for her. In Memory of Jean, think of a fun time you had with her and hold it dear. Her last words were “What a fun life I’ve had.” We will miss you Mom, Gramma, Great Gramma Jean and GiGi very, very much!!!!
