Jean was born on December 31, 1930, in Millersburg, OH and passed away on August 13, 2021, in Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mae, her brother Cletus, and her beloved son Rodger.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Tim; daughter, Jackie; sons, John (Cherie) and Doug; grandchildren, Clint (Jen) Jon, Marie, Megan (Derek); and great-grandchildren, Michael, Matt, AJ, Cody, Chris and Ryan.
Jean lived in Ohio until 1943 when she moved to Tucson and graduated from Tucson High in 1948. She was introduced to her future husband, Tim, by her brother, a fellow Harley rider at the time. Tim and Jean were married in 1950.
Aside from their travels while in the Army, they lived in Tucson their entire married life. They had 4 wonderful children from 1953 to 1961.
Jean spent her time as a full-time mother and homemaker. After her children were raised, she worked for 17 years at Tucson Unified School District as an aide on the handicapped buses which brought her tremendous joy. She spent many years caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren forging relationships with them that they will cherish for the rest of their lives.
Jean always enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. You could not leave her house hungry or without food to go. She could whip up a meal as fast as she drove, and that was fast!
Her pets were just as important to her. She showered them with love and treats. She was always willing to help her family and friends with whatever they needed. We all enjoyed our family get togethers that were made special by Jean.
Besides all the caregiving that Jean provided over her lifetime, she also took time to have a lot of fun! In her retirement years she was able to enjoy many trips and activities with her family including trips to Hawaii and Alaska, river cruises and activities like skydiving, hang gliding, soaring, zip lining and riding along on a NASCAR experience.
We are lucky to have had her in our lives and she will be greatly missed.
