Jeanette Louise Rembert was born in Houston, Texas on March 2, 1937, to John Peavy and Mamie Tanner. She attended Jack Yeats high school in Houston, later met and married Arthur Rembert Jr., and together
they raised 6 children. Until Arthur Jr. retired from the military, the family lived in several US states, as well as Spain. Jeanette loved working with people and eventually spent nearly 20 years with the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before retiring in 2011.
Jeanette was committed to her family and was happiest surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Always selfless, she would give whatever she had to a child or grandchild in need. Jeanette was also
driven by her faith in God and was devoted to her church family at New Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In addition to family and church, Jeanette loved going to the casino. Her family would often tease her, saying the casino was her home away from home.
Jeanette went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2021 and she will be laid to rest on November 29, 2021 at East Lawn Mortuary. She was preceded in death by her parents John Peavy and Mamie Bell, brothers Noel and Thomas Lark, husband Arthur Rembert Jr., daughter Angelina Kirkwood and granddaughter Niandra Simpkins-Milligan. Jeanette is survived by her children Cynthia Cephus (Rob) of Tucson, Arizona; Ian Rembert of Tucson; Daphne Rembert of Tucson; Arthur Rembert III (Rene) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Daniel Rembert (Tammy) of Salem, Oregon; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
