On Thursday, December 22, 2022, John Garland Walker III, passed away suddenly at age 72 in his home in Oceanside, California. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 31, 1949 and his parents were John Garland Walker Jr. and Alice (Pat) Walker, nè Williams.
Johnny, (as he was known by most people who knew him) was a Military Brat as his father spent over 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, and with his family he spent a lot of his early life living overseas including in Portugal and Turkey, and later in Madrid, Spain where he graduated in 1969 from Madrid High School at Torrejon Air Base near Madrid. All these experiences at a young age gave him a great love for travel and adventure and during his adult life he lived in many places around the United States including Texas, Arizona, Washington State, Hawaii, Nevada, and California.
In his early twenties he fell in love with his life partner and wife Jeanene Sutton and they spent the rest of their lives together. Johnny was best known for his quick-witted humor, fierce determination, and with a generous and free loving spirit, and everybody that knew him would agree that he was a kindhearted and gentle person who was always willing to help out those in need.
At a very early age, Johnny developed a deep love for the ocean and spent as much time as he could near the sea. While living in Hawaii, he and his wife Jeanene both got certified as scuba divers and spent countless hours exploring and enjoying the incredible variety of underwater life forms beneath the waves.
John is survived by his brother Ronald Walker and he will be interred at East Lawn Cemetary in Tucson, Arizona near where his parents are laid to rest.
