

Jose “Santos” Morales passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 90 on January 18, 2022.
Funeral service will be held on February 3, 2022 from 10am to 11am at 1220 S 6th Ave, Tucson AZ, 85713. Following the funeral service will be a grave site service from 11am to 12pm at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5501 S Park Ave, Tucson AZ, 85706.
“Santos” was well-loved, respected, a mentor to many, a diligent worker, inventive problem solver, and a true cowboy to the end.
He was born and raised in Tucson, AZ to Miguel Morales and Carmen Guaidacan-Lopez on November 1, 1931.
He served in the United States Army from November 13, 1953 to November 14, 1955 during the Korean War helping with the atomic testing in Nevada, making him an Atomic Veteran.
“Santos” career highlights included working in the sheet metal industry as a union worker in Local 359. Notable jobs that he worked included the McKale Center, Grant’s Food Store, the Radisson Hotel, Great Western Bank and many other local structures around the Tucson area. He completed his work as a journeyman sheet metal worker as well as a mentor to young up and coming workers in the industry.
Jose ”Santos” and Mary Morales were married until her passing on January 1, 1994.
“Santos” is survived by his children, Patsy (Bill), Joe (Debby), Rachel (Emilio), Jose “Sonny” (Pam), Debbie (Thomas), Rebecca (David), Sandra (Louie), proceeded in death by son Michael. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. As well as many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
The family expresses gratitude and appreciation to “Santos” special friend, Carmen Elias.
The family also expresses so much gratitude and appreciation to the Haven Hospice Staff for the gentle care.
