Joe “Chink” Cole died peacefully on Thursday, April 19, 2012 in Tucson, AZ at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lavern. He is also survived by his daughter Maydia, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Joe retired from the U.S. Army after nearly thirty years of service spanning two wars. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, April 25, at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 26, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1800 N Camino Pio Decimo with burial following at 1:00 pm at Southern AZ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Sierra Vista.
