Karen Lee Sexton

Our wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend of many around the world, peacefully left this earth; surrounded by the family that she lovingly created. Karen was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas and grew up in a military family.

She was married in 1976 to her faithful husband, Don, in Greensboro, N.C. and spent 26 years as a military wife during which time they raised 3 children and moved 14 times to locations all over the world. In 1998 they retired to Las Vegas to be near their children and grandchildren. Karen then became a Realtor and spent over a decade at RE/MAX Advantage serving the Las Vegas Community before retiring and dedicating her life to volunteering. She devoted her time to the Green Valley United Methodist Church as the Chairman of the Finance Committee and served as a member on multiple HOA boards.

She is survived by her husband, Don; her children, Wendy, Joe, and Marie; her 5 grandchildren, and her kids on the other side of the line: Robin, Chris and Karin. She was the heart and soul of her family, loved deeply by so many, and she is gone way too soon. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

The memorial service for Karen will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 21st, 2015 at Green Valley United Methodist Church – 2200 Robindale Rd. Henderson, NV 89014. Interment at Palm Mortuary will occur at a later date.
