I will always remember your kindness. You were my favorite person to talk to during the holidays in Ajo. Your can do attitude made me realize that set backs didn't have to hold you back in life. One day we will visit again.  Miss you Tio.

My deepest condolences to the Celaya family. I grew up with Lionel in Ajo. He and my brother Ernie were best of friends. At one time Lionel and I were roommates in Phoenix for several years. I have so many great memories of Lionel growing up in Ajo and the time we spent in Phoenix. During those times in Phoenix I learned so much about life from Lionel. What a great friend he was to me. He would always stop in Holbrook where I lived and meet for dinner or lunch. We would talk about fishing and family. I was never fortunate enough to throw a line out with him but I was blessed to have had Lionel in My life. I will miss you my friend, but I know you're casting out a line with the Angels.

Lionel was a co-worker at DOR - though I was in Phoenix Office. We talked often and he was my go to person in Tucson for information, assistance and keeping us current on taxpayer issues. He was kind, intelligent, hardworking, and could be a force to reckon with if he saw injustice.Lionel had a great sense of humor and made work lighter in an unpopular field. I, like many others at DOR, share good memories of Lionel. I am so sorry for your family's loss.

Our deepest condolences for your great loss cousin.  It is hard to find the words to express how sad I am for you and your children.  I know he meant the world to you all so I know how very sad you must be.  Remember this tough, you all are very blessed for having had him in your lives so may all the great memories you created with him uplift you during this very difficult time and may those same memories continue to carry you through the rest of your lives without him.  He was a great man who worked hard and lived life to its fullest but his job here is done and now he is an angel in heaven helping God watch over all of you.  Lionel always welcomed us with a big smile on his face and his gracious and good nature.  I will always remember him fondly.  He will be missed. I was blessed enough to have had met Lionel. He was truly an amazing caring lovable human being. He helped us through a very hard time in life. You will forever be missed, but forever in our hearts.

What words? I grew up with all of your cousins.  I recall all of the gatherings and the joy among  the families.  I prayed for you to get better, but our Heavenly Father had a different plan.  Jn 14: 1-2 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  If we follow his word and his will we will all be gathered again.  and we will be Restored for eternity.  So long for now.  My condolences to your family.

Gracie it was an honor to get a chance to meet you.You and Lionel looked so happy all the time.I was glad to see you come out to enjoy the music with us at the casino..
I met Lionel sometime in grade school. I was tall at a young and of course I always got asked to dance by the short guys and Lionel just happened to be one of them.He always had a smile on his face.
  I met up with him just before he retired and was telling me how happy he was about getting ready to retire  ,about being with a wonderful wife and he had great kids...He was beaming with so much love and happiness. I couldn't help but be happy for all of you.
 I wasn't one of the popular kids but he always would say hi in passing .I will always be grateful for his kindness
 Now in knowing you too we couldn't ask for a better match than the two of you.You are both special people that were blessed with each other through good and bad times... 
 May you find peace and may Lionel finally RIP....He's flying with the Angels and watching over you all making sure your alright .
   I'm here for you if you ever need someone to talk to or just need a friend.

I will miss Lionel. I have so many memory of the times, the places, the story, the work, and the time we spent together as good friends and enjoy life.

I feel we have all been blessed to know Lionel.  He was always kind and caring.  He was a very strong, good man...he showed us how to deal with life positively and with dignity.  He was always fun to be around, always joking, and his smile made you instantly happy.  It was a pleasure to meet Gracie...and was so obvious they were great together!  I'm thankful for all the good memories and having the honor of calling him my friend.  Love to all his wonderful family.

While I only met Lionel once, he married one of the most wonderful women I've ever had the privilege of knowing. I never knew Gracie to be as happy as she was during her years with Lionel, so he must have been a most wonderful human being. Husband to Gracie, and father to her (their) 3 beautiful children. A good, strong, kind man. A role model other men could surely learn from.
I am saddened by his passing, but thankful he is out of pain and in a better place. He will surely be missed by us all, for the rest of our days here on Earth.
Lionel, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for being the man you were, for loving Gracie and her children unconditionally, and being the best kind of father there can be...one who is present. I wish I had known you better.
