Mabel Choi Mei Dong

Mabel was born on August 22, 1928 in Canton, China. Seeking a better life for herself and her family, she emigrated from China to Phoenix, Arizona in 1969 to settle in the ‘Gold Mountain,’ a term of endearment Chinese often use for America. Her green thumb always nurtured an abundant garden that fed the whole family (and then some). After working in a family restaurant, she settled in Tucson, where she ran her own grocery store with her husband Buck for many years. During her well-deserved retirement, she could be found strolling through Tucson Mall with her mall walking club or working out at the UMC gym. She was always in the kitchen, and we will miss her cooking. She’ll be remembered for her sense of humor, clever antics and compassionate generosity.

Mabel is preceded in death by her parents Mang-Yin Zhang 張孟賢, Yu-Kam Wong 黄遇金, and brother Yuan-Yuan Zhang 張源遠, and survived by her husband of eighty years Buck 柏林; her children Ben 禮彬 (Mary 皓坤) and Liza 麗珠; grandchildren Jennifer 慧明 (Jerry 逸斌), Kimberly 佩明 (Alex), Brian 健明 (Janina) and Taylor 秀明; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Mabel’s memorial will be held at East Lawn Palms Chapel, 5801 E Grant Road, Tucson AZ 85712, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024. 亞利桑那州圖森（祖筍）市的鄧張彩媚女仕於2023年12月23日星期六安詳去世，享年95歲。她是一位深愛的妻子、母親、祖母和曾祖母。

彩媚女仕在1928年8月22日出生於中國廣東省。為了讓自己和家人過上更好的生活，她於 1969 年從中國移民到亞利桑那州鳳凰城，定居在“金山”，這是中國人對美國的愛稱。她的園藝天賦總是培育出一個豐富的花園。在一家家庭餐廳工作後，她定居在圖森（祖筍），與丈夫柏林一起勤勞經營雜貨店多年。在她當之無愧的退休期間，她喜歡經常到圖森（祖筍）購物中心 Tucson Mall 漫步，或在 UMC 健身房鍛煉身體。她生平總是在廚房裏為家人做菜。我們會銘記她的拿手好菜、幽默感、及聰明的滑稽動作和富有同情心的慷慨。

彩媚女仕的先父姆為張孟賢、黃遇金，先愛弟張源遠。她遺下丈夫柏林、長子禮彬（皓坤）、小女麗珠、孫女慧明（逸斌）、孫女佩明（Alex）、孫子健明（Janina）和外孫女秀明； 6個曾孫； 以及無數的侄子和侄女。
