Mary "Ms Ellie" Eleanor (White) Smith

Mary better known as “Ms. Ellie” by friends and family was born July 5th, 1937, in Boston Massachusetts. Surrounded by love she was raised by her mother and father (Edward and Florence White) as well as her maternal grandmother Eleanor Perry and aunts Gladys Langley and Hettie Taylor. Other profound influences on her were her sister Janet, as well as dozens of cousins including Ethel (Waters) Walker (her partner in crime).

Ms. Ellie was educated in Boston, and spent her career in the service of others, retiring as the Chief of Staff for the Veterans Administration Hospital department of Clinical Pharmacy.

Besides spending time with her family and friends, Ms. Ellie had a passion for cooking, entertaining, shopping and traveling.

She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.

Ms. Ellie is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Roger Arvin Smith daughters Michelle Delaine, Pamela Smith, sons Michael (Shawn) Smith and Kevin (Annette) Smith Grandchildren Allen (LaShawn) Delaine, Bearret (Jessica) Delaine, Robert Smith, Bradlei Smith, Andre Smith, Micah Smith, Gabrielle Smith and Daniel Jelks, Great Grandchildren Alexis Delaine, Asia Delaine ,Riley Smith, Khalia Jelks, Leilani Jelks as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her devoted caregivers Ms. Aishah Mohammed and Ms. Yessica Fierros.
