Minnie Elizabeth Barrett

February 9, 1928 - February 15, 2024

Born in Memphis, TN to parents Ollie and Maud Gresham, Libby passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Libby is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Robert Barrett Sr.; her son Robert Barrett Jr (Terry); her son David Barrett; and grandson Sheldon Hoskinson. She has 5 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

After years of working in the food services industry, Libby retired and she and Bob spent their years traveling and having a front row seat watching their children raise their families. Libby was a loving mother and grandmother and always enjoyed having a house full of family. She was known for always being cheerfully dressed for every occasion and her famous potluck green beans. Widowed in 2014, she kept herself busy with church friends and daily trips to Ellie Towne Community Center. In 2020, Libby moved to Amber Lights and lived independently where she made many friends and was the very popular “Ms. Libby”. Every person who met her was an instant friend. A devout Christian, her faith in Jesus was strong.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, Ferbruary 27, 2024 at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706, with Senior Pastor Ed Eddingfield of First Southern Baptist Church officiating. Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM prior to the service. Catered reception will follow in the South Lawn reception hall.
