

Norma Bailey (nee Wilkes) passed away peacefully at the age of 84, on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital in Tucson, Arizona, as a result of a sudden illness. Born in the north of England, in South Shields, Newcastle, on January 20, 1930, Norma was the eighth of nine children born to the late John and Mary Wilkes. She was the loving wife of the late Gordon Charles Bailey, a union that lasted 43 years until his death in 1993. Norma has been a resident of Vail, Arizona for the past 2-1/2 years.
She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her two children, Gordon (Janet) Bailey of Lacey, Washington and Tessa (Kevin) McDermott of Vail, Arizona; four grandchildren Brian McDermott, Sondra Bailey, David (Jessica) McDermott, and James (Jamie) McDermott; one great grandchild Camden Hunt; her sister Edna Pedrin; her two sister-in-laws Valerie Bebar and Mary Bailey; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be deeply missed by many good friends and neighbors. Her family will forever remember her as a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life at a memorial service to be held at East Lawn Palms Mortuary & Cemetery, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ, 85712 on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM. A buffet reception will be held immediately after the services at The Lodge at Del Webb, Rancho Del Lago in Vail, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.
