Norma Lydia Teyechea

passed away peacefully at home on January 9, 2026. She was born on May 26, 1949, in Nogales, Arizona.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Benjamin Teyechea and Annie Jury Teyechea; her brother, Daniel Teyechea; and her nephew, Daniel Teyechea Jr.

She is survived by her loving siblings: Jose Benjamin Teyechea II, Carmelita (Leyva) Teyechea, Annette (Carranza) Teyechea, Esther Teyechea, George Teyechea, Ricardo Teyechea, and Juan Antonio Teyechea. She also leaves behind her devoted daughters, Suzette (Martinez) Teyechea, Carla Hockersmith and her spouse, Angela Ontiveroz, and Victoria Hockersmith and her spouse Della Lewis.

Norma was a cherished grandmother to Michelle, Alejandro, Joshua, Annie, Aiden and Julian, and a proud great-grandmother to Danitza, Aidan, and Natalie, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

After a career as a travel agent, Norma dedicated her time to caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She treasured those moments spent together, enjoying movies and cartoons with them—and introducing them to her beloved soap operas. Her love, warmth, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Funeraria del Angel Catalina, located at 3435 N. First Avenue, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., followed by a reception at 8:00 p.m.

A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish, located at 272 N. Rodriguez Street, Nogales, Arizona, followed by the urn burial.
