Ofelia Apalategui 81, passed away at home surrounded by her children and Husband, On March 20, 2026. She was born August 29, 1944, In Magdalena, Sonora, Mexico. At 7 years old she made a home with her family in Tucson, AZ. At 18 years old she married Ramon Rodolfo Apalategui on November 10th 1962. She was preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Juanita Miranda; her sisters Irene, Sarah, Josie and her brothers Jesus and Johnny.
Ofelia loved dancing and listening to music in her backyard with her husband. She had a big heart, and a big smile. She could make friends with anyone, she loved meeting new people and hearing their stories. Her passion was loving and raising her children. Most of all she loved her husband wholeheartedly. She loved watching sports with her husband and having BBQ’s with her family.
Ofelia is survived by her husband, Ramon Apalategui. Her Sisters Sally and Rosa. Her Children Ray Apalategui, Arthur Apalategui (Sheila), James Apalategui, and Barbara Apalategui, grandchildren Daniella, Jesus, Peter, Joshua, Christina, and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at South Lawn Cemetery at 5401 S. Park Ave, on April 2nd, 2026. 10:00 Rosary, 10:30 Vigil, and 11:00 Speaking. There will be refreshments.
