Richard (Rich) Harry Dekker, III, 63, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona in the presence of his family. Rich was born in Blue Island, Illinois on February 6, 1960 to parents Darlene Ann Dekker (Graefen) and Richard Harry Dekker, Jr.
Rich’s family moved to Tucson in 1976. Soon after graduating from Canyon del Oro High School in 1978 he married and started a family. Rich owned and operated two construction businesses before acquiring Life Cycle Logistics which he continued to own until his death.
As a young man Rich was a talented artist and potter and an avid bicycle racer. He enjoyed golfing and eventually discovered sailing which became his passion. His favorite place to sail was the British Virgin Islands. Rich also loved the mountains, and moved to Show Low, Arizona in 2022.
Rich is survived by his daughter, Brittany Rae Jacobs (Jo), granddaughter, Parker Noelle Jacobs, ex-wife, married 40 years, Leslie Zak (Dekker), his current wife, Linda Dekker (Arvizu), his father, Richard Harry Dekker, Jr. (Marlys Dekker), and his siblings, Randy Dekker (Nadine Dekker), Darice Dekker, and Elizabeth Dekker.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Darlene Ann Dekker (Graefen) who passed away in April of 2020.
