Richard was the closest, truest friend I have ever had. It is hard to describe the kind of man he was. I met Rich and his wife Judy in about 1994 or so. I cannot do him justice no matter what I say, but I will try. I could share things with Rich about the Lord that I couldn't share with anyone else. We discussed everything over the years, but especially the reality of spiritual warfare...the reality of heaven and hell, and the experiences that many have had, as well as our own. Rich was such a rare man - he always believed me, and believed IN ME, when no one else did. Who called me in 1997 and let me know the railroad was hiring in Tucson? Richard! Who offered to call me Saturday mornings to help me make it to the men's breakfast? Richard. Whose prayer was so anointed by God before we started on a hike that I couldn't even walk? Guess!! Who was the most faithful and responsible man I have ever known? Richard McGlocklin, just to be clear. True story: when I was going thru Union Pacific's hiring process, the superintendant conducting the interview was Paul Labello. When Mr. Labello asked me how I took interest in U.P., I told him that my friend is an engineer with the company and he told me about it. Mr. Labello said, "if I knew that you are like him, I would hire you right on the spot". I can honestly say that with 40 years of work experience in my life, spanning many companies and thousands of employees, I have never heard any manager or supervisor say that about anyone. Still not convinced, unbelievers? Read on...
  On one hike up on Mt. Lemmon, I told Rich that there were deer on Mt. Lemmon, but I had never seen any. Rich said, let's pray to see some." We prayed, and on the hike saw several deer; and on the way back to my car, a deer was standing right by my car in the parking lot, with cars zipping by on the highway. Over the years, we discussed astronomy, ufo's and bigfoot, the Nephilim, the black knight satellite, Admiral Byrd's amazing discoveries at the south pole,the pyramids, stone blocks weighing over 1000 tons that no one can explain, a cloud of glory that I saw fill a sanctuary, a supernatural sign from God I saw in the sky, demonic attacks and how to defeat them, etc., etc.,
  Judy, I never told you, one day about 15 years ago Rich and I were assigned to the same train....the sun was just up when we pulled into el paso, sort of blinding us. A fuel truck was going to pull right in front of us on a crossing. I hit the horn fast, and the driver slammed on the brakes just before we would have hit it. I'm pretty sure that would have been it for both of us. The Lord saw fit to bless us with Richard for many more years. I will always remember the times at your home when you and Rich would have me laughing to tears, and the times at the cabin in the white mountains. I can't thank you enough for all your love over the years. I don't have my own family, but you and Rich have always been like family to me. I just can't believe he's gone (actually, he moved from earth to heaven, so he's not really gone, but you know what I mean). What else can I say? Richard was the most godly man I have ever known. I think that says it all!!!

I am so sorry to recently read of the passing of your brother, Richard and although late, am sending my sincere condolences to you as well as Richard's family. I remember him during our adolescent years as "Dicky" and the fun times we all shared together as kids. I recall your father being such a wonderful man as well, and the horse buggy he had. Fond memories....

Richard will be greatly missed.  He loved his Lord & his beautiful family with all his heart!  He was a friend to all he met!  I loved my cousin very much.  Laura

Richard touched my life if a brief neighborhood walking encounter. We met while walking and he mentioned that neighbors didn't know each other and he tried to get to know people and their dogs. Dog names were easier and he remembered our dog's name. He was a delightful and cheerful guy who will be missed.

So very sorry to hear of Richard's sudden passing.  I am a lifelong friend of his younger sister Carol. We were neighbors in Yuma.  I have kept in touch with Carol and visited from time to time with her and Larry.  Richard was a good brother to her and son to his dad, especially in his father's final years.  I can only imagine what a wonderful father and husband he must have grown to be.  Just wanted to send my condolence to all of you. Rest in peace Richard.

You were like the brother I never had.  I will always remember the conversations we had.  We shared feelings & didn't tell anyone.  Miss you my friend!

We will miss Richard tremendously. He showed his love for Jesus in so many ways and we will always treasure him in our hearts. For Judy and Richard's hospitality in opening their Pinetop home to us many times, we will cherish those memories. Judy, we love you and we will always keep in touch

Richard was beloved by us both and helped to make our lives more blessed and abundant with all his love for Jesus and people. In 1973 I was on my student trips as a switchman Southern Pacific in Phoenix. Richard kept me safe and was a great teacher. I remember the night he found out he had been accepted for engine service, he was so happy. An excellent locomotive engineer and person.

I am very sorry to hear about Richard.  We worked together for Southern Pacific in Phoenix many years ago when you lived in Chandler.  He was one of the nicest and most easygoing people I had the pleasure to work with during my years as a switchman.  He was also very conscientious and I learned a lot from him.  I know the family will all miss him.

I always enjoyed working with Richard. We would talk about the local history as we went down the tracks.

I often spoke with Richard and we encouraged each other to "run the race" as Godly men and seek Him daily.  I am greatly saddened by his passing, but look forward to seeing him again...

Richard desired to know the Lord better and serve Him more fully each day!  What a wonderful person!  I was blessed he and Judy came into my life in 1980 at El Camino Baptist Church!  Richard always honored the Lord as a believer and was a fairhful friend to many!  My prayers to Judy and family!

Richard you will be oh so missed here on Earth but we know we will see you again in Heaven. You were a special friend to have and know as a fellow Engineer. My best memory of Richard is that he loved to worship Jesus.  Now his view is unclouded, his worship face-to-face.  Blessing and strength to the family.

Richard was a great neighbor and friend. I remember with fondness chatting with him on his way home after one of his long distance hikes. My heart felt sympathy goes out to Judy and their family.

Although I didn't know Richard I did know about his love and commitment to the Lord and an proud to say he is a brother in Christ and is now in heaven his eternal home.  A inspiration to all.
