

Robert Bogan, of Vail, Arizona, attorney/judge, died from complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on March 20, 2022. He was 79 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Pamela Ann Proller Bogan. They married on July 3, 1966. Robert or Bobby as he was affectionately known, was born to Carl Bogan and Mary Fox Bogan in the Bronx, New York, on July 1, 1942. His survivors, in addition to his wife, are one son, Benjamin Adam Bogan, JD of Tucson, Arizona; a daughter, Rebecca Ellen Cummins, MD (Craig) of Barrington, Illinois; 5 grandchildren, Emma and Gabrielle Bogan; Kyle, Ryan, Luke Cummins; a sister, Andrea Faye Bogan Haber (Marvin), sisters-in-law, Kathy Jane Sumner (David), Nancy Jane Baker; 1 niece 2 nephews. He attended City College earning a BA in Accounting in 1964 and the University of Buffalo Law School in 1967, from which he was awarded a Juris Doctor. He was admitted to the New York Bar and the Arizona Bar. Bobby began his legal career as an Assistant DA in Manhattan. He was very active in ROTC in college and entered the Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps in March of 1968, where he had a very successful legal career for 21 years, retiring in 1989. After his retirement, he was a prosecutor for The Organized Crime Strike Force that eventually came under the auspices of the US Attorney’s office for the southern district of Florida. After leaving that office, he managed a law firm in Albany, New York, but eventually left to work for the Bureau of Professional Medical Conduct in Troy and Albany, New York. He retired from that position in 2010. The family is planning a future burial in Arlington National Cemetery. The family would like donations to go to the Wounded Warrior Project.
