

Robert lived a life marked by warmth and a generous spirit. Married for 33 years to his wife Altagracia Gowett. Together they raised Arturo Yepiz, and Altagracia’s niece Keyla Yepiz. They were blessed with three grandchildren Cecilia Sophia, Andres Arturo Yepiz and Khali Iran Figueroa.
Robert was the elder of Cecelia Ann Hindsley’s two sons, and is survived by his brother Derrick (Hindsley) Heinzelmann and his husband James Heinzelmann. Known for his loving and caring nature, he was someone with a big heart who left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. A proud supporter of the University of Arizona, Robert held a deep connection to the community and culture of the region. He also had a great appreciation for the outdoors, loved feeding his tortoises and enjoyed his hummingbirds. He found joy and peace in nature throughout his life. His love for the natural world reflected his adventurous spirit and enduring curiosity.
Robert’s fondness for all things Yankees spoke to his roots and passions, adding another layer to the vibrant personality that endeared him to so many. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
He will be missed deeply by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Catalina, located at 3435 N First Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85719, on February 1, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 602 W Ajo Way, Tucson, AZ 85713, on February 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
The committal service will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705, on February 2, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
