

Robert (Bob) Morgan Pedley Tucson has lost another of it's finest men. Robert (Bob) Morgan Pedley gently left his earthly life surrounded by his loving wife and children on Friday, November 19, 2010. Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 3, 1913 to Arthur and Sara (Jones) Pedley. Mother Sara passed away in 1929. Arthur later married Bertha Chapin. The family had orchard farms in Conneticut and New Jersey, and moved to Bradenton, Florida where they successfully raised lettuce and celery. It was while living in Bradenton that Bob began his life-long love of sailing, spending countless hours in and around Tampa Bay. Bob served our country during World War II in the U.S. Army, He enlisted on June 17, 1942 and was discharged December 19, 1945. Bob was deployed to England and then participated in the D-Day invasion, landing at Utah Beach. Serving in France and Germany in the Third Army, he was present at numerous battles including the Battle of the Bulge. After arriving in Munich, he was present during the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp. Bob was hired by Bendix-Westinghouse Electric after his return to the U.S. and worked as their west coast sales representative. Bob met and married, Kathleen Cone on February 9, 1951. Son, John of Bettendorf, Iowa and daughter, Jan (Fox) of Tucson soon came along. The family moved from California to Tucson in 1958 where Bob formed a partnership with Walt Moody, Art Ryan and Bob Boyle (all deceased) to open the Tucson Brake Supply Co. Their success over the years subsequently allowed them to open the Phoenix Brake Supply. Retiring in 1973, Bob and Kay along with their beloved poodle Tutu, and later Lisa Belle, travelled the U.S. and Canada visiting friends and family while making new friends for 27 years in their many motor homes. Along the way Bob and Kay fell in love with the campground at Burro Mountain Homestead in the Gila Forest in New Mexico. Bob and Kay summered in their home at Burro for more than 30 years. Bob was blessed with Cary Grant looks and the humor of Bob Hope. Everyone that ever met Bob enjoyed and cherished him. His love, devotion and commitment to his family was evident through his last days. Bob leaves behind his wife, Kathleen (Kay) Pedley; children, John (Wendy) Pedley and Janice (Matthew deceased) Fox; sister, Betty Chandler of New York; niece, Stephanie Finmark of Rancho Mirage, CA and grandchildren, David (Denise) Pedley, Richard Pedley, Jillian Pedley and Amanda Fox. Oh how very blessed we have been to have you as our father, Daddy! - a tribute from your adoring daughter. Please, no flowers.
