Strunk (Linda Gibbons) of Bullhead City, AZ and Robert W. Strunk, II, (Betty J. Olson) of Tucson as well as his daughter, Marilyn S. Rutschman (Wayne R.) of Tucson. He is the grandfather of 7 and the great-grandfather of 10.
Bob was born in Phoenix AZ in 1922 and grew up in several communities in both California and Arizona. He was very fond of his time spent in Oak Creek, AZ with his family prior to their move to Tucson in 1938. Bob attended Tucson High School where he excelled at track and field events. He was a 1941 graduate of Tucson High School. Bob pursued farming and ranching work while learning the construction trades during the next 10 years. He met the love of his life and was married to Frances Kane, of Patagonia AZ, in Tucson in 1944 where they lived happily together for the next 67 years.
In the early 1950’s Bob incorporated RW Strunk Construction, Inc. and commenced a nearly 50 year career building fine custom homes in Tucson. He specialized in the use of burnt adobe masonry construction and developed his own unique style of building. Most of the over 200 homes he built are still occupied and being enjoyed by families all over the Tucson foothills and Metro area.
Bob loved to be outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and was always ready for a trip the Mountains for that purpose. Above all he was a dedicated Father and Husband and will be missed by his many friends and family.
He will be laid to rest Saturday September 10th, 2016 at the East Lawn Palms Cemetery at 9:30 AM. There will be a memorial service in the East Lawn chapel followed by a graveside ceremony.
