Rudy G. Urias, Jr. left us unexpectedly too soon on July 11, 2022. Rudy was born on January 7,1985 on a beautiful calm and balmy day. It was the perfect day as it fit his gentle, mild and pleasant character. Rudy graduated from Tucson High School and was an avid athlete in baseball and soccer having played all four years of high school sports in addition to playing club athletics at the All Star Level for most years from ages 5 to 18.
Following High School, Rudy worked in various sales positions and attended Pima Community College until he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp, attaining the rank of Sgt. prior to completing his first four-year term. He was deployed to Afghanistan for an arduous nine-month tour and completed his Marine Corp career after six years of service.
Rudy earned several certifications in substance abuse treatment and counseling and was working toward completing his Life Coach Certification prior to his passing. He developed a passion for helping the homeless and less fortunate and had plans to create a non-profit that would allow him to serve that community.
Rudy left behind his parents, Rudy Sr. and Nancy, sisters Lisa M. Urias and Amie Urias Baltierrez and brother-in-law Brandon Baltierrez. Preceded in Death is Sister Kristi Ann Urias. Nephews: Mariano Lopez, Christian Ralls and Brandon Baltierrez; Nieces: Karina Lopez, Karina Baltierrez and Elena Baltierrez, Godson and cousin Nathaniel Castro, so so many special Tias and Tios, too many first, second and third cousins to name and countless friends considered to be extended family.
Rudy connected with everyone he met and left a mark on each heart. He brought light and love to everyone he knew though his smile and hugs and he will continue to travel with us in spirit.
In lieu of flowers, Rudy would very much love it, even insist on it, for you to donate to your favorite homeless shelter, food bank and recovery center.
