

Roger Elmer Schoenherr of Tucson, Arizona, died August 17, 2023. Born on February 17, 1936 in Niagara Falls, New York, Roger was predeceased by his wife, Jane Elise Schoenherr, nee Sturges, his parents, Elmer and Marie Schoenherr, and one infant brother Berkley Wilbert Schoenherr. He is survived by his brothers Ron (Mary) Schoenherr of California, and Dan (Kathy) Schoenherr of Missouri, daughters Janet (David) Ziebell of Marietta, Georgia, Karen Lewis, of Cummings, Georgia, and son Stephen (Amy) Schoenherr of Tucson. Roger enjoyed an extended family of many nieces and nephews, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Roger’s early career included drafting, the US Army, and land surveying. Following graduation in 1969 from the University of Arizona with a degree in Civil Engineering, Roger succeeded in a long career in civil engineering, first in private practice, and later for Yuma County where he retired in 2000. Following retirement and together with his beloved wife Jane, Roger designed and built several Arizona homes, enjoying Yuma, Flagstaff, and Tucson. Together Roger and Jane combined their technical skills and artistic flair designing their last home, a lovely Tucson foothills home that was exactly to their tastes and hosted many large family gatherings.
