

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Sally Dianne Harrison West, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on April 24, 2016 in Tucson, Arizona after a brave and fierce fight against cancer. Born in Provo, Utah on June 13, 1935 to Lewis Irving and Norma Ruby Christensen Harrison. She is survived by her children, Laurie West, Scott West (Tey), and Tracy Fronimakis (George); siblings Nancy Butler (John) and David Harrison (Esther); five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Kay Sartor and Ceann Serre.
Sally moved to Salt Lake City, Utah at age 11 and graduated from South High School. She remained in Utah until promoted by Chevrolet Motor Division in 1977; thereafter, she lived in Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, and California before retiring in 1992 after 34 years. In 2001 she moved to Tucson to live near her youngest daughter and to enjoy the year-round golf season.
Sally was a single mother who made many sacrifices while raising her children to provide them with a happy life. She passed along her strong work ethic and always motivated them to become successful and responsible adults. She took great pride in her family and loved nothing more than celebrating their accomplishments and joyous moments. She had great spunk and a passion for life that always drew people near her.
Sally was an avid golfer, loved to dance, enjoyed gardening and the art of bonsai, and had a real passion for travel, visiting many destinations around the world. She served many years as a board member of the Tucson Jazz Society and loved to attend jazz concerts and festivals with her daughters. She was very active with her Homeowner’s Associations in both California and Oro Valley. She will be missed deeply by all those who were blessed to know her.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 7 at 2:00 pm, East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 E. Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ. Interment will be in the East Lawn Palms Cemetery. In accordance with her wishes, a Celebration of Life party will be held on Sunday, May 8 from 6:00-9:00 pm at the Vistoso Village clubhouse, 13401 N. Rancho Vistoso Blvd, Oro Valley, AZ.
The family would like to thank the many health care workers at Banner UMC Hospital and Cancer Center that gave her such excellent care and showed her much love, as well as the staff of TMC’s serene Peppi’s House Hospice.
