

Married on April 16, 1949, to Marion Betty Schmidt, they were married for 74 years. Together they had three daughters, Bonnie, Sharon and Darlene. Sam is survived by his wife; Marion Betty of Tucson, Daughter; Bonnie Everitt of Phoenix, grandson; Keith Pavlik, of Dallas Texas, granddaughter; Dawn Garcia of Tucson, three great grandchildren; Jace, Jordan and Savannah Garcia. A brother Joe in Delaware, Sisters; Linda and Maryann of New Jersey, and Ester of Kansas.
Sam worked for Cooper Dairy and Suburban Gas Company both in New Jersey. He also managed a boy’s baseball team there, made up of 12- to 15-year-olds. Sam moved to Tucson in 1967 and started working for Petro Lane Gas Company, Shamrock Dairy, later for Farmers insurance, and a Travel agency called Travel Network all in Tucson.
Sam loved to play softball for a group called “The Tots”. He played ball until he was 79, when his health started to decline. He was a member of the, Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene (“OVCN”). On Wednesdays Sam and Marion worked in the kitchen at the church.
Sam will be missed by all that knew him!
Services for Sam will be held Wednesday, November 8th, at 11 O’clock in the morning at the “OVCN”.
