Shylor Michael Jones Butierez

Shylor Michael Jones Butierez, age 21, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020, leaving us with broken hearts and overwhelming sorrow. Shylor was born October 20, 1998 in Tucson, Arizona. but did not join our family until he was 14 months old. He and 2 older brothers were eventually adopted, increasing our household to 9!! Shylor attended school at Desert Mosaic Charter School from kindergarten thru 10th grade, then finished his high school education while attending Job Corp . During his time at Job Corp, he received various certificates in the plumbing field. After finishing his vocational program, Shylor surprised his family with the news that he was going to Alaska. Although, Shylor often spoke of his desire to go there, he was not taken seriously, until now, when he showed us the ticket and plane reservation! On December 6, 2016, Shylor left Tucson for Fairbanks, Alaska!! After many adventures in Alaska, including being stranded on a “mountain” in bear country, Shylor returned to Tucson. Shylor worked as a house painter and and roofer for a while before moving to Phoenix. Living with his best friend's family in Phoenix was a time of happiness and growth for our Shylor. He was becoming a responsible young man with a steady job. He made new friends, but kept in touch with his old. Shylor was excited when he was recently promoted to Shift Manager at Taco Bell where he worked hard. He was looking forward to taking a few days off to join us on our annual hunting trip. Shylor is survived by his parents, Juanita and Angel Butierez, 14 siblings, and a large extended family. Shylor was especially close to his brothers Brian, Joseph, Michael, Wayne, AJ, and his sister, Catherine. He was also close to friends that he grew up with - Alex, Danny, Benny, and Rey. There were many people in Shylor’s life who loved him dearly, and considered him to be a member of their families. We will all keep Shylor’s memory alive with love for him in our hearts. All those who wish to share their special memories of Shylor are invited to do so during his memorial service.

A visitation for Shylor will be held Monday, September 28, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel University, 7 East University Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85705, followed by a funeral service from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
