

Passed away on Friday February 8th 2013 at home in Tucson AZ. (Emeritus at Pantano assisted living facility)
He was born September 27th 1932 in Galesburg, Illinois.
He married Bonnie Westfall May 2nd 1954 in Lewiston, Idaho, she survives.
He is also survived by 3 children Randy (Sandy), Laurie, Connie (Rob),
6 Grand children, Tony, Katy, Megan, Molly, Conrad, Kayli,
and 4 great grand children, Destiny, Aiden, Preston and Bradley.
Also surviving are 2 sisters Thee and Georgia.
Proceeding him in death were his parents, Ted and Marie and his son Donnie.
He was a Korean War Veteran (USAF). Stationed at Larson AFB Moses Lake Washington.
He was employed by IBM in Bloomington, Illinois (1960) and retired with IBM in Tucson AZ. after 30 years.
Gene was a wonderful Husband!!! Son, Brother, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
Through life he acquired many friends that became family and cherished every one of them.
He was an avid Golfer, Traveler, Card and game player, Tinkerer of all things.
From the ditch parties and neighborhood baseball games in Colonial Meadows (Bloomington, IL)
to the Shuffle Board tournaments at Trails West (Tucson AZ). There were many trips to the northwest for fishing,
camping and LETS JUST SEE how many we can FIT in a tent with Bonnie's family. He was a wonderful mentor
and roll model to all of us. His years in the IBM family were truly cherished and enjoyed.
Family was everything to him and he was everything to family. He was always full of stories and shenanigans
in the name of FUN.
Bonnie was the love of his life and told her so when they first met. They were together for 58 years and were
inseparable. It was a true fairy tale come true.
He wants to say "It was a wild ride"
He will be missed by all.
