William V. Combs, a proud veteran, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away surrounded by those who loved him deeply. His life was marked by service, strength, and unwavering dedication to his family.
William served his country honorably in the United States military and later received care through the VA medical system. During his time receiving treatment, his family was supported by the Fisher House Foundation, whose mission provides free lodging to families of veterans receiving medical care. The Combs family remains forever grateful for the comfort and care extended to them during that time.
He will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery, where he will be interred alongside his beloved wife, Alicia, in a shared plot — reunited once more.
William is survived by his loving daughter, Melissa, and her husband; his cherished grandchildren; great-grandchildren; extended family members; and dear friends who will carry forward his memory. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alicia, whose love remained the cornerstone of his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Fisher House Foundation in honor of William’s memory, so that other families of veterans may receive the same care and support.
William will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and deep love for his family. His legacy of service and devotion will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
