William (Bill) G. Fortis of Saddlebrooke and Desert Springs, AZ, passed away on June 8, 2016 was born December 12, 1931 in Chicago, IL. only child of William & Adeline (Czaja) Fortis. He graduated Kelly High School, Chicago, IL. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He married Evelyn M. Pergler, his high school sweetheart, on October 10, 1953 in Summit, IL. They shared 63 years of marriage.
He was the father of 3, Ramona Boren (husband William), Beverly Downard (husband Ron), and David Fortis (wife Linda). He had several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Mr. Fortis worked for the BNSF Railroad for 38 years in many different capacities. He later was a consultant for Greenbriar.
He enjoyed his retirement in Arizona.
Mr. Fortis was preceded in death by a grandson Scott Downard and his parents William & Adeline Fortis, his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Memorial Services are at Santa Catalina Catholic Church, 14380 N. Oracle Road, Tucson, Az. 85739, on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 10 a.m.
