William Justin Winter, 42, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on Thursday, September 9th, 2021. Justin was born on November 22, 1978, in Tierra Amarilla, NM. He was raised in Pagosa Springs, CO until 1989, when he moved to Tucson with his mother, Barbara, and siblings Amber and Colin. He graduated from Catalina Foothills High School in 1997. In 2008, he received his associates degree in Graphic Design from ITT Technical Institute. Justin’s continued thirst for knowledge, resulting in his returning to school to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Software Development, an effort which he was pursuing until the last few months of his life. In 2015, Justin began dating the love of his life, Angelica, and they were married on September 22, 2018.
Justin had many hobbies and interests besides technology, including astronomy, billiards, golf, woodworking, anything Star Wars related, and so much more. One of his greatest passions was cooking – he lived to cook for others and delighted in watching people enjoy the masterpieces he created with love. He was an amazing chef and put his heart and soul into everything he did.
Justin will be remembered as a genuinely kind soul to anyone and everyone, no matter whether they were his friend or a stranger. The way his presence lit up a room and the sound of his laughter will be treasured in the hearts of all that knew him. His beautiful spirit blessed all those he encountered, and most would agree that they are better people for knowing him.
Justin is survived by his loving wife, Angelica Winter, his father, Mark Winter (Linda), his mother, Barbara Winter, his siblings, Amber Winter (Jason Toumey), Colin Winter (Nicky), and Lerina Winter, brothers-in-law, Tony Starks (Tammy), and Aaron Starks, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His big heart, his love for life and his presence will be sorely missed. May the Force be with you, Justin!
A celebration of Justin’s life will be held later this year.
