Yu-Shiu "Mae" Shaw passed away peacefully on the evening of Aug. 25th. With her husband Ronald R. Shaw of 52 years and her youngest daughter Torri by her side. Born in Puli, Taiwan on April 4, 1952. To parents Hung Yung Chen (father) and Hung Yu Ai Hou (mother) Mae will be them, her brother, her oldest daughter Lola, and her youngest grandchild Aleya "Josh" in Heaven. Survived by her husband, youngest daughter, oldest granddaughter Gabi, older sister Joann, niece's Estella, Rachel, Jennifer, with extended family in N.C. and several more family members in Taiwan. Mae used her incredible culinary skills while working for DMAFB loyally for over 2 years. Once she was completely retired she lived life through simple pleasures like gardening. Using her green thumb to nurture a multitude of plants, veggies, and fruits. Mae was also a superb angler. She always shared what she cooked, grew, or caught in the lake with her neighbors or whoever she came across. Mae loved to laugh and have fun, and wanted everyone around her to feel the same way. Her smile and beauty illuminated a room. Her laughter infectious. People often describe her as kind-hearted, caring, and thoughtful. But she was so much more to so many. Truly one in a billion, a special unique soul. We are inviting family, friends, and others whose lives she's touched to join us and celebrate her life.
