Aaron Christopher Jones was born November 21, 1968, the baby of a large family. That came with advantages and disadvantages; the biggest disadvantage was being named by a committee of siblings. The name Aaron Christopher allowed us to nickname him Sparky (after A.C. spark plugs), whether he liked it or not.
The biggest advantage was being adored. He was delightful, when he wasn't being a twerp. He had big blue eyes and eyelashes to swoon over. He was the extrovert in a family of introverts.
Sparky made friends easily and kept them. Hard-working and responsible, he was a truck driver until his health, and a doctor, made him stop. That didn't stop him from work, though, hauling hay and making plans. A bachelor most of his life, we were so happy when he married Heidi Ming in April of 2014, and heartbroken when the marriage ended a few years later.
He loved machines and bought way too many of them, buying a farm in his mid-20's so he could store them. He didn't care if they ran or not, because he was sure they would someday. Maybe he just had a soft spot for lost causes; he was also a lifelong Steelers fan.
Sparky is survived by his mother, Mickie Jones of Yelm, and his father and step-mom, Larry and Sue Jones of Moses Lake. He is also survived by two brothers, Kirby (Louan) Jones of Fort Shaw, Montana; and Rand Jones of Malaga, Washington; and three sisters, Cari (Ernie) Jones of Naukati, Alaska; Devon (Michael) Stone of Camas, Washington; and Nena (John Lamoreau) Jones of La Grande, Oregon. He had a bunch of nieces and nephews, even more great nieces and nephews, four surviving aunts and uncles, and a truckload of cousins.
Sparky left us quietly on December 12, 2017. It was one of the few things he did quietly. He was a presence wherever he went, and he will be greatly missed.
