Betty Jean Douglass, 81, of Spokane, WA passed away in Aberdeen, WA on June 21st, 2012. She was born on October 30, 1930 to Lewis J. and May C. Armstrong in Yakima, WA. Betty attended and graduated from Yakima Sr. High School and then Yakima Valley College where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Betty dearly loved her country and she proudly decided to join the United States Navy, for 10 years, where she became a Certified Registered Operating Room. After which she transferred her Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) and joined the United States Army for another 10 years where she retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. Betty served in both the Korean Conflict and the Viet Nam War. She was an all American gal, and she loved American passed times such as baseball, fishing and dirt bike racing; Betty was an amazing woman with a good heart, she is truly loved and will be forever missed.
Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Neitra, grandson, Jasper, brother, Ralph and his wife, and nieces and nephews, Gloria Sloan, Carol Sloan and Douglass Sloan. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Janice Sloan
