It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Frederick Jonientz, who passed away on November 20, 2024, at his home in Yelm, Washington. Born on August 8, 1942, to George and Geneva Jonientz, Carl lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Carl was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was married to his beloved wife, Carol Mischel Jonientz, for 60 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Carl is survived by Carol, their three children, Cheryl Jonientz Crawford, Carl Frederick Jonientz Jr., and Carrie Jonientz Fenner, as well as six adoring grandchildren, Jake Crawford, Caleb Crawford, Jack Fenner, Luke Fenner, Morgan Jonientz, and Carlyn Jonientz.
A hardworking and successful businessman, Carl spent much of his career alongside his parents in the family business. After his father’s retirement, Carl pursued a new venture in the tire industry. He became a partner with Tiny Youngberg at Tiny's Tire, and upon Tiny's retirement, Carl became the proud owner of the business. His determination and work ethic were evident in every endeavor he pursued.
One of Carl’s proudest achievements was earning his pilot’s license later in life and owning his own plane, a testament to his adventurous spirit. After retiring, Carl and Carol embraced life as snowbirds, enjoying the sunshine and making lasting friendships. Throughout his life, Carl enjoyed many passions, including golfing, a game of cribbage (always with a wager), and time spent with family and friends.
Carl will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love, generosity, and sense of humor will live on in the memories of his family and friends.
