Carla W Roe

1937-2023

Carla Roe passed away peacefully in her sleep in Olympia, WA on July 30, 2023. She was the only child of the late Carl and Lucile Wolters and married James Anthony Roe, Jr in Olympia on August 24, 1957. Together they loved and raised their seven children until his passing in 1992.

A lifelong resident of Olympia, Carla graduated from Olympia High School and attended the University of Washington prior to marrying and raising her children.

Carla was an avid traveler, exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest and places well beyond. She particularly enjoyed traveling across Europe and spending time in the arid Southwest desert with dear friends and loved sharing the stories of the beautiful places she visited. She had a love of golf, jazz music, dance, theater and social gatherings but what she most enjoyed were the times she spent with her family. She had a long life - well lived and loved.

She leaves behind her children (Jim, Lisa, Cathy, Joe, Susie, Molly, and Betsy) and their spouses/partners, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and Bill Kennedy; a warm, kind and gentle man who loved and cherished her in her golden years. Bill's children and their spouses rounded out her extended family as did her friends, neighbors and caregivers.

A memorial service will take place on August 11, 2023 at 12:30 for friends and family to gather and celebrate her life at Mills and Mills Funeral Home located at 5725 Littlerock Rd SW Tumwater, WA. The interment of her cremains will take place at 2:00 the same day. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity.
