Declan Walker Kern, beloved son of Scott and Dana, was born sleeping at Tacoma General Hospital in Washington on July 3rd 2017. After being diagnosed with Twin To Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) he and his brother underwent rare and emergent laser surgery while still in the womb at 15.5 weeks gestation.
Though Declan passed two weeks following the procedure, he remained with his twin until they made their earth side arrival at 30 weeks 1 day gestation. Declan spent 24 hours being held, talked to and loved by his mother & father before being taken into the compassionate care of Mills & Mills Funeral Home for cremation.
He is survived by his parents, his identical twin brother, Sawyer, his two older sisters, Karli and Karsyn, grandparents, great grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Though Declan never got the chance to take a breath of his own, he definitely took ours away. From the moment we heard his heartbeat to the times we watched his busy movements on numerous ultrasounds he made us so very proud.
Declan made a huge impact on our hearts and will eternally remain "Always Wanted & Forever Loved.
